I just can’t rave enough about all the staff and how they helped us have an amazing trip. By the end of the river rafting trip, our son wanted to do more rapids (our typical experience once he overcomes his anxiety!). The dessert bars were really good.īeing able to run the Class 3 rapids more than once was a blast! My son also did the Anaconda Rapids 2 more times with me and I couldn’t be more proud of him. We enjoyed the Fried Chicken lunch and I really appreciated that the Chicken was boneless cutlets. We also had some amazing raft “family” that encouraged our son and helped distract him as we when down more rapids. Once through the first rapids, I was so impressed with the young man that was our guide. Thankfully, the White Water trip starts with easy Class 1 Rapids. The first rapids were a challenge with our son telling the guide to turn around and go back. My husband and I were concerned about how he would do but decided to give it a try. He is very cautious yet loves roller coasters and thrill rides after he gets past his anxiety/fear. I have a special needs child with Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety and ADHD. Overall, it was a great day full of unexpected fun. Not only that, but they let us get creative with one or two people riding "rodeo" on the front of the raft and the whole group of us on the side of the raft. I wish we had sat up front.Īnother unique part of the trip was being able to rerun the class three rapid seven times. Unfortunately, we were in the back of the bus and had a hard time hearing. The trip out and back to the river is long, but we were entertained by creative and funny raft guides. What we got instead was a hilarious comedy skit that gave us all the info we needed, but that also made us laugh and pay closer attention. This is usually a boring speech given by a well meaning raft guide. The first clue I had that this trip would be different was when the group was lined up for the intro speech before we all got on the bus. The guides made up for this by making the trip fun and exciting in other ways. The river itself was relatively tame (which was great for my young kids). I have done a lot of white water rafting trips. Sit in the front of the bus or you will miss out on one of the highlights of the trip. The trail mix was the BEST I’ve ever had!! We just had a great time. ( We bought water shoes.) Even their photo prices were reasonable. It speaks for the company when there’s no price gouging for those “forgotten” items. The outpost sells everything you need and is VERY reasonable. I also bought a flotation 6” ring to attach to the bag just in case. I had purchased a water proof bag made for cell phones and got photos of my group and a few other folk. The photographer was not on the river due to weather. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed Ryeland also! Jake was our bus driver and was very safe and considerate of other drivers. The rafting was so much fun! It was our first trip and we all loved it. She was very knowledge about the river and it’s wildlife pointing out various birds. As summer storms often do, the weather cleared and our time on the river was great! Our guide was Shelby. The groups were halted and removed from the river until the area was safe. I had weather concerns and sure enough we had a downpour with thunder and lightening I was impressed with EOW handling of the situation.
